Getting To Kensal Green Cemetery

Kensal Green Cemetery is located in west London, on a 72-acre (29-hectare) site bounded on the north by Harrow Road, on the east by Ladbroke Grove, and the south by the Grand Union Canal.

There are two gates in daily use on Harrow Road, and a door leading to Ladbroke Grove.

The Top Gate (just to the west of Kensal Green Underground Station) admits both cars and pedestrians during regular opening hours. This gate also leads to the independent Roman Catholic cemetery of St Mary.

The Main Gate, to the east near the junction with Ladbroke Grove, is for pedestrians only, and generally closes an hour before the Top Gate. This monumental structure also houses the offices of the General Cemetery Company.

The door on Ladbroke Grove, adjacent to the Dissenters' Chapel, allows access to Friends' lectures and special events when the gates are closed; this entrance is not usually open during regular cemetery hours.
